Shelagh Merenius
Chief Compliance and Tax Officer

Shelagh Merenius is the Chief Compliance and Tax Officer of ValStone Asset Management ("VAM").  As Compliance Officer, Ms. Merenius is responsible for monitoring the firm’s and its related entities’ compliance with regulations, laws, contractual agreements, internal policies, fiduciary obligations and ethical standards.  In this capacity Ms. Merenius is also responsible for developing and monitoring internal controls, quality control and minimizing the firm’s operating and business risks.  As Tax Officer, Ms. Merenius is responsible for the timely reporting of financial information to investors and the IRS.  Prior to joining VAM in 1999, Ms. Merenius worked for twelve years at Wm. Crook Fire Protection Company where she was Chief Financial Officer, a Member of the Board of Directors and a Trustee of the Profit Sharing Plan.  Prior to joining Crook Fire Protection, Ms. Merenius was for three years a Controller for Copystatics, Inc., a business equipment sales and leasing company owned by a buyout group controlled by Bennett LeBow.  Prior to that, Ms. Merenius was for three years Assistant Controller of Sengra Corporation, owners, developers and property managers for Miami Lakes, Florida.  Prior to that Ms. Merenius was for three years an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers.  Ms. Merenius received a BBA from St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana where she concentrated in Accounting.
